The Smart Investigative Department answers the call nobody else will take: a switchboard, burnt beyond recognition. Two inspectors work the scene like a prime-time crime drama. One is all instinct. The other is mostly confused.

The spoof works because the craft plays it straight. Real procedural blocking, real crime-scene grammar, and a culprit that was never a who. It was cheap wiring. Case closed.
